Menton (France) memories

We had some days in Menton,

France, in 2021 September, a wonderful town on the seaside, next to the Italian border. We liked this abandoned early 20-century secessionist hotel building we passed by almost every day.

This detail was so nice, I must have it for my weaving experiment!

When we came back I got my ‘split-shade weaving’ book from Deborah Silver and made a wall hanging to remember. (Deborah Silver’s home page: https://www.deborahsilverstudio.com )

I used the colours of the local marble, stone, plaster, and decided to follow the ornamental pattern from the facade.

I was happy to use my 40 years old 4 shaft Glimakra - which I bought recently in perfect condition - for the very first time.

It has mistakes, and usually, I am very keen to make more ‘neat’ things, but I am happy with it now.
